The Weekend in Violence: Three Stars

First off Happy Memorial Day. Without our troops none of this would be possible.

Having the pleasure of growing up in Michigan a stones throw away from Windsor, I go to watch Hockey Night In Canada every Saturday. Of course many of you are familiar with Hockey Night in Canada’s Three Star Selection. We’ll try to make this a regular feature here whenever there are three worthy stars from the various MMA promotions . This past Memorial Day Weekend there certainly were.

1. Mark ” Fight Shark” Miller

In his first fight post open heart surgery Miller made quick work of his opponent Nikolaj Falin as a part of the Glory World Series Kickboxing event.(GIF upper left)

2. Brian Stann

Stann asked to fight for the UFC on Memorial Day. I don’t think it’d be possible for any of the Zuffa brass to turn him down. All Stann did was deliver another impressive TKO performance at Middleweight over a Top 10 opponent thus establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with at 185.

3. Rick “The Horror” Story

I picked Thiago Alves to KO Story in this one. Not only did Story prove me wrong, (which I actually love when this happens) he proved me dead wrong. I’m excited to see who’s up next for “The Horror Story”. He has definitely entered my Top 10 at Welterweight. This is a guy who has no quit at him. It should be interesting to see how he does from here on out. I’d like to see Josh Koscheck as his next opponent.

Honorable Mentions: (Travis Browne, Demetrious Johnson, Brian Davidson)
